"Bingata" is a traditional Ryukyuan textile that involves intricate stenciling and dyeing by hand.  Originally produced for royalty in Shuri, it is now often seen on kimono worn by Ryukyu Buyo (traditional Okinawan dance) dancers.  Its bright colors and distinct patterns featuring nature have become a symbol of Okinawan style.

The 8th Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival (aka "Taikai") will be held in Naha, Okinawa, in October 2027.  The Taikai is organized by the Okinawa Prefecture and held once every five years. Uchinanchu (people of Okinawan descent) from all over the world come to Okinawa to celebrate their heritage. The purpose is to bring people together, reaffirm their roots and identity, and then be able to pass that on to the next generation.

Even if you aren't planning to go to Okinawa for the Taikai, you can still take part in some of the festivities.  Follow them on social media and check the official website for virtual event info.
