Inspired by true events, Olympic Grill tells the poignant story of Amos, a quiet dishwasher living with mental illness, who works in his family's local eatery. Amos observes life through the portholes of the kitchen door. Through his eyes, we experience the rhythms of the restaurant and the interactions between staff and patrons.

Based on the author's grandfather’s real-life restaurant, the Kuhio Grill, names and details have been changed to protect the innocent.
